Our thirteenth and final day in Germany. We walk through Berlin one more time, enjoying street art at the RAW Gallery and Berlin Wall, and architecture along Karl Marx Allee.
Germany 2019 (Day 12) Berlinische Galerie “Original Bauhaus” Exhibition, Reichstag Dome
The Dessau Bauhaus was designed to be viewed in the round, so on foot it’s nearly impossible to understand the entirety of the structure. But, when viewed from above, the complexity of the shape is much easier to appreciate.

Today we visited a number of places around Berlin. Unter den Linden, Potsdamer Platz, Berliner Philharmonie, and the Gemäldegalerie.
Germany 2019 (Day 10) Kreuzberg, Werkbundarchiv (Museum of Things), Museum Island
Our third day in Berlin, our tenth day in Germany. The Museum of Things is one of the greatest museums I’ve ever visited. Its tight focus on the artifacts of the Deutscher Werkbund really appeals to the William Morris lover in me.
Germany 2019 (Day 9) AEG Turbine Factory, Berliner Funkturm, Photography Museum
Our first full day in Berlin. Today I visited the historic AEG Turbine Factory and photographed the Funkturm Tower (a self-initiated project) in honor of László Moholy-Nagy, who died on this day in 1946.
Germany 2019 (Day 08) Potsdam, Science Park, Sanssouci, Neues Palais
Our eighth day in Germany and first day in Berlin. Today we enjoyed a day-trip to Potsdam to visit Albert Einstein Science Park and the beautiful Sanssouci Palace.
Germany 2019 (Day 7) Dessau Bauhaus, Master’s Houses, Törten Housing Estate
Today I woke up in the Bauhaus, a truly stirring experience. We toured the building and other historically significant places around Dessau.
Germany 2019 (Day 6) Dessau Bauhaus and Dessau Bauhaus Museum
A handful of photos from the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. All photos shot RAW with the Fujifilm X-100F and processed with Adobe Lightroom.
Germany 2019 (Day 5) Weimar Bauhaus, House am Horn, Bauhaus Museum
Today was our fifth day in Germany and first full day in Weimar, the birthplace of Walter Gropius’s grand experiment.
Germany 2019 (Day 4) Margaretha Reichardt House, Erfurt Cathedral, Krämerbrücke
Our fourth day in Germany, we left Frankfurt for the last time and took another day-trip to the small town of Erfurt to visit the weaving workshop of Grete Reichardt.
Germany 2019 (Day 3) Aachen & Cologne
Our third day in Germany. We took a terrific day-trip to Aachen and Cologne. Both towns have outstanding cathedrals and both were in the process of setting up their Christmas markets.
Germany 2019 (Day 2) Gutenberg Museum & Mainz Cathedral
Our second day in Germany. We left Frankfurt on a day-trip to Mainz to visit the Gutenberg Museum of Printing History.
Germany 2019 (Day 1) Libertine Lindenberg Hotel, Städel Museum, Museum for Communication Frankfurt
Today is the first day of our trip to Germany where we’ll follow the existence of the Bauhaus school as it moved to three different cities during its fourteen-year existence (Weimar, Dessau, Berlin).
U.K. 2019 (Day 13) Canterbury Cathedral
Today we left London and took a day-trip to Cantebury where we visited the centerpiece of the medieval town, the sprawling Cantebury Cathedral (which dates back to 579 CE).
Los Angeles 2018
A few days ago I posted some pictures of my brother Jared and his little boy (my amazing nephew). Here are a few more photos from that trip to Los Angeles (December 26–31, 2017).

Seattle 2017 (Day 6) Street Photography
Our sixth and final day in Seattle. We walked past the gum wall which was being pressure washed down to the bare bricks. We also visited the Starbucks Reserve one more time (of course).
