Hands off the DIA

This project started out as a poster series and quickly ended up evolving into a social media campaign. The images were aimed at raising awareness about the potential sale of works from the permanent collection of the Detroit Institute of Arts in light of Detroit’s bankruptcy filing.
The threat of loosing key pieces of the priceless collection conjured up the simple slogan "Hands Off." The jagged blackletter attempts to evoke the timelessness of the collection while pointing out the urgency of the situation.
